Who We Are and Who This Policy Covers

This policy is issued by Al Waleed Company F.Z.E, a Free Zone Establishment licensed in Sharjah Publishing City Free Zone under licence number 4416710.01, with its office at the Business Centre, Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, P.O. Box 3777. In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" refer to the company, which acts as the controller of the personal data described here.

The policy applies to visitors of alwaleedcompany.com and to anyone who contacts us by phone, WhatsApp or email. However, it does not cover third-party websites that our pages link to, because those sites follow their own privacy policies. Personal data shared with us by representatives of banks, authorities or business partners is handled under the same principles.

Personal Data We Collect

We collect only the data you choose to share with us, or data that a website collects automatically to work properly. Specifically, this includes:

  • Contact details, such as your name, company name, phone number and email address.
  • Request details, such as product models, quantities, destination country and delivery dates.
  • Correspondence, such as messages, attachments and documents you send us.
  • Technical data, such as your IP address, browser type and pages visited, recorded by our hosting server and security tools.
  • Job application data, such as your CV, when you write to our HR inbox.

Our website has no user accounts and no online payment. Consequently, we do not collect card or bank account numbers through it.

How We Use Your Information

We use personal data for clear, limited purposes. For example, when you ask for a quote, we use your details to check availability, prepare the offer and follow up on your order. In addition, we use it to:

  • Answer enquiries and keep a record of our correspondence.
  • Prepare quotes, invoices, packing lists and shipping documents.
  • Meet legal, tax, customs and accounting obligations in the UAE.
  • Protect our website against misuse and keep it working securely.
  • Review job applications sent to our HR team.

We do not use your data for automated decision-making. Likewise, we do not send marketing messages unless you ask us to.

Legal Basis Under UAE Data Protection Law

We process personal data in line with Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data and its implementing regulations, as they apply to our activities. Depending on the situation, our processing relies on one of the following grounds: your consent, the steps needed to prepare or perform a contract with you, compliance with a legal obligation, or our legitimate interest in running and protecting our business.

When we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. However, withdrawal does not affect processing that took place before it.

Cookies, Embedded Content and Third-Party Services

Our website uses a small number of technical cookies set by WordPress and our hosting environment for security and basic functionality. We do not use advertising cookies. If we add analytics tools in the future, we will update this policy before doing so.

In addition, some pages load content from third parties: fonts from Google Fonts, a map from Google Maps on the contact page, and links that open WhatsApp. When your browser loads these services, the providers may receive technical data such as your IP address, under their own privacy policies. The WhatsApp message form on our contact page runs in your browser only; it does not store or send your entries to our website.

You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time. However, blocking technical cookies may affect how some parts of the website work.

When We Share Personal Data

We do not sell or rent personal data. Instead, we share it only when it is needed to serve you or to meet the law, for example with:

  • Shipping, logistics and customs partners that move your goods.
  • Suppliers, when a quote or order requires confirming availability.
  • Banks and payment providers involved in a transaction you requested.
  • Professional advisers, such as accountants and auditors, under confidentiality duties.
  • Government authorities, when the law requires disclosure.

Some of these parties may be outside the UAE, for example when goods are exported. In that case, we share only the data needed for the shipment and take reasonable steps to protect it. In every case, each recipient receives only the data needed for its task.

How Long We Keep Your Data

We keep personal data only as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected, or as long as UAE law requires. For instance, commercial and accounting records connected to orders are kept for the period required by applicable commercial and tax rules. Enquiries that do not lead to an order, on the other hand, are deleted or anonymised when they are no longer needed.

Job applications are kept while the recruitment process is open, unless you agree that we keep them for future openings. After that, we delete them. Similarly, technical server logs are kept for a limited period for security purposes and then deleted.

How We Protect Your Information

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. These include an encrypted HTTPS connection for our website, restricted access to company email accounts, and limiting data access to team members who need it for their work.

However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure. Therefore, please avoid sending highly sensitive information, such as full bank account or card numbers, by WhatsApp or email unless we have agreed a secure method with you. If we become aware of a personal data breach that affects you, we will act in line with the notification duties set by UAE law.

Your Rights Over Your Personal Data

Subject to the conditions of UAE law, you have the right to:

  • Request access to the personal data we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Request deletion of data that we no longer need.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing.
  • Withdraw consent where processing relies on it.

To use any of these rights, email info@alwaleedcompany.com with the subject "Privacy Request". We may ask you to confirm your identity before we act on the request. If you believe your rights have not been respected, you may also contact the competent data protection authority in the UAE.
